At 16 weeks, my baby is about 4.5 inches from head to rump now.
That is about the size as these stuffed animals that live in Josiah’s Noah’s Ark, although the baby is quite a bit thinner. Babycenter tells me that the baby’s eyes and ears have moved to just about their proper places on the baby’s head and his/her legs are more developed. With these developmental feats, the baby is ready to do so hefty growing in the next few weeks: plumping up to twice its current weight (approx. 3.5 oz.).
The little man still doesn’t get it, but I plan to bring him to my Dr. Appointment next Tuesday and we’ll get to listen to the baby’s heartbeat together. He’ll probably just think my tummy is thumping…but you never know.
