A few weeks ago, I shared the custom Tag-A-long Blankets I made for Noah and for Chloe. This week I’d love to share the one I made for Tenley:Noah’s mom ordered this as a gift. At the time, I had not yet created any blankets for girls…but she was thinking that perhaps I could use the black and white damask fabric that I used for this playmat purse with a pink minky:You can’t really tell from the photos, but that black and white fabric is a stiffer sort of fabric which is perfect for bags and home decorating projects, but not so great for a soft blanket to cuddle up with. However, I was very pleased to discover this cute cotton print with a similar pink and brown damask pattern:And it looked fabulous with this nice chocolate brown minky:I took some artist liberties combining both upper and lower case letters with the name applique, and outlined them with a blanket stitch in pink. The damask fabric has since been discontinued, so Tenley’s blanket will forever be a one-of-a-kind creation. But new fun fabrics seem to be coming out everyday…with lots more great options for custom creations like this one!
