Peek-A-Boo Blankies were one of my first SnugasaBugBaby creations. Small blankets such as this one are perfect for little hands to manipulate…so little babies can explore and enjoy the various colors and textures, and toddlers can carry (not drag) it around with them wherever they go. My son has always loved to use the little blankies I have made for him to play peek-a-boo. Over and over and over again! (Which is why I call it a Peek-a-Boo Blankie.)
I have made a few different varieties of Peek-a-Boo Blankies, which you can see here here and here…but this sport-themed one was a special creation for a special little someone. My sister wanted a special gift for a friend’s little boy, James Lukas. Knowing his nursery was sport-themed and that his parents were choosing baby accessories in mainly red and blue, she asked if I could make a Peek-a-Boo Blankie with him in mind. Of course I would! …being able to make custom creations is the biggest advantage to handmade gifts. It was fun to find a few sporty ribbons…but I couldn’t really find a sport-themed fabric I was happy with. No problem, this meant I could include both silky and minky fabrics. I opted for a patchwork sort of look in order to have a good balance of color on both sides. His name was sewn on to both the blanket and the coordinating pacifier strap. Here it is all wrapped up and ready to go. I hope little James is loving his blankie!
