HI, I’m having a gender reveal party in Feb. and I am very interested in ordering the hershey bars. Can you tell me where I can get them?

    thanks 🙂

  2. Alisha says:

    Hi Krystal,

I apologize about my slow response…I am just getting “caught up” from the holidays and visiting family. No need to order the Hershey bars…just grab a pink marker and a blue marker and shade in the appropriate letters on regular fun-size Hershey bars.

Hope that helps! Have a GREAT party!!!

I like how your framed your spoon and fork! I have a fork and spoon set similar to yours. How did you attach them to the wall?

  4. Alisha says:

My fork and spoon had hooks attached already for hanging….sorry , I know that is in no way helpful for you. We added tiny metal picture frame hangers to the back of the frame we made. My thought is perhaps gorilla glue would hold a hook to your fork and spoon so you can hang them?

I purchased some sheets of fabric “paper” at JoAnns: in the aisle with tshirts and embellishments. You can put them through a regular printer with regular ink! I print several logos on a sheet, cut them apart, attach them with heat ‘n bond and then sew a satin stitch around them.

    Hope that helps!

I LOVE your quilts for Selah & Josiah! This is the best idea I’ve seen… I’ve only just completed my first ever quilt, but seeing yours has inspired me to jump in and do my second 😀

I especially like how ever square has a meaning, like your first initials, aor that their birth makes you a family of 3, etc. Just BEAUTIFUL!!!

Thank you so much & keep it up, you are so talented!

Off to do some sketching, hopefully baby naps some more 😀
(Oh boy… my little babe has EIGHT letters in her name… jeez)

    Thanks again,

Hello, Love your bedroom make over. I make rugs for kids rooms. I was wondering how well having a separate web site works with you Etsyshop?
any help would be appreciated. Laurine:)

To be honest, I don’t know that I have ever made a sale from my etsy shop because people have found it through my website/blog if I have, I am unaware that that is how they found my shop. People who find my blog are interested in DIY projects, tutorials, and “copycatting” (not used in a derogatory tone). People who are interested in BUYING my products usually find me through an etsy search for that particular item. I do LOVE having a blog though. Although I started it to bring traffic to my shop, I am finding that there is MUCH more I love about blogging and do still hope that I will still be able to turn it into a separate profitable business someday. If you do decide to start a blog, I’d recommend going with is a great resource for getting started, which I wish I would have known about when I was just getting going. Hope that helps a bit 🙂

I LOVED your gender party ideas! Shameless to say I am one of those girls that saw the gender reveal from 19 kids and counting and loved it IMMEDIATELY! I love the idea of doing something new and so unique. I have a question for you that I hope you can help me with. Do you have a gender party to reveal the gender to your family and closest friends and a regular baby shower for the rest of your girl friends…or do you just have one big party? Here is my thought process…. first and formost, I don’t think I have the will power to wait until I’m 6 or 7 months to reveal the gender so I would like to have the gender party soon after doctor confirms. 2. I don’t want to seem greedy and have two parties where ppl feel obligated to bring gifts to two partys but a baby shower is traditionally in my last few months so the parties would be months from eachother. Unless I don’t invite the same people to both parties but I fear friends or family will feel left out from being invited to one and not the other. Bottom line, is it appropriate to have two parties or should I just have one huge gender party with everyone invited. I kind of feel like the gender party should be family and close friends and the baby shower will be for everyone else but I fear that with all the work that goes into planning any party, one huge party instead of two low attendence parties seems like the best option. I appreciate any wisdom and advice on the subject from you and anyone else on this awesome blog!

    Sierra –

Thanks…I am glad you are finding those posts helpful 🙂 The gender reveal party my sister threw for me was NOT a shower. I liked it that way A LOT. Since gender reveal parties are such a new phenomenon and showers have been around “forever”…there WAS some confusion, so shortly after the invitations went out I sent an email clarifying that it was not a shower, but rather a fun way for them to join with us as we found out the gender of our baby. Next time, I think we’ll mention that in the invitation. I think this sounds like a good option for you, too, based on what you have told me. That way you can have a gender reveal party shortly after your ultrasound and not have to wait too long, THEN register for any gender specific items you may want, THEN have a shower as your due date gets closer….I would personally recommend that you have the same guestlist for both parties. That way, friends and family members have the privilege of sharing in your excitement and celebrating your pregnancy at the gender reveal party with no obligation to bring a gift AND then they will have the opportunity to shower you with presents later. I think they would all enjoy being involved in your pregnancy for more than one party…and it still means just one gift. IF anyone feels that two parties is too much, they can just decline the invitation. No big deal. So that is my two cents. I’d love to hear what you decide to do…

Do you have a pattern for purchase for the purse/playmat? Would love to carry it in our quilt shop we carry lots of “minkee” and this would be a great addition!

  12. Alisha says:

I do not currently have a pattern for sale…but I DO plan on putting one together as well as an online photo tutorial. I’ll let you know when I have a pattern ready to go. Thanks for your interest!!

  13. Ashley says:

Do you know when you will have the tutorial up? I think this would be a perfect unique gift for a friend who already has everything.

    Ashley –

I have moved to a new home in a new state. The carpet in my future sewing room will be finished tomorrow…hoorah!!! I actually have a few orders to fill and a couple of mending projects in line. THEN I hope to get to my tutorials. While I want to say it will be as soon as next week….the reality is it may not be until July that I am settled and organized enough to get that tutorial put together. (I HAD hoped to get it done BEFORE we moved…but that didn’t happen) I hope that is soon enough for you. Thanks for asking 🙂

  15. Marika Robinson says:

Hi, i was wondering if u got to setting up the PDF for your Play-mat bag and if so how can i get the PDF my niece is having a baby and i would love to make her one Thank Marika Robinson

  16. Alisha says:

I am sorry, I have not been able to get to that project yet. Unfortunately my sewing room is still in boxes from our recent move: but I want to get to it as soon as I possibly can.

  17. Alicia says:

I am wondering if you still have your etsy store. I cannot connect to it to view/place an order.

  18. Alisha says:

    Alicia –

I do still have my etsy shop…but it is currently empty. I moved a couple months ago and have not yet been able to settle into my sewing room or unpack any boxes with my materials. I am itching to do so as soon as I can and will re-open my shop as soon as I am able to. Is there a specific item you are interested in? I may be able to dig out the right supplies for a project or two even if I am net yet ready to reopen my shop…

    Thanks for your interest,

  19. Adrienne says:

    Hey Alicia–
Congrats on the move– I’d love an email when your all set up from the move for instructions on how to make a purse play mat–That’s a genus idea! Your amazing!!! Thanks

  20. Lisa Schroeder says:

    Good Afternoon!
I saw your burlap wreath on your site but didn’t see that you sold them. Are you selling them or do you provide instructions on how to make them?

  21. Alisha says:

    Carrie –

Looks like my response is too late to be helpful…what did you end you end up choosing?

In case anyone else is wondering: my mom did something cute…she brought a blue gift AND a pink gift with baby outfits inside. She returned the one that wasn’t needed.

  22. Kelly says:

I would love it if you could send me a free tutorial on how you made the pillowcase dress with the extra pink band to break up the 2 gray fabrics. I would be very elated. Thank You.
